The problem with CVS tree of PEAR
Es everyone should know there is a official PHP CVS repository, where PEAR is a module. Here is a small overview, what the average PEAR developer has to do, if he likes/has to use CVS with his package.
Autocompletion on Win32 console
For everyone searching for the tweak to enable autocompletion in the commandline of Win2k/WinXP:
Mouse gestures are a very cool and easy way to navigate websites. Problematic is, that the most used browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer) does not support them by nature.
Session proposals for PHP Conference 2004 Quebec
Yesterday Marco Kaiser and me applied for the following sessions on the PHP Conference 2004 in Quebec. I hope to get there, I've never seen Kanada...
PEPr, not only a hot spice...
PEPr (pronounced like 'pepper') is the new automatic proposal system for PEAR, I made in the last days. Yesterday the whole thing became official, as I called for tests on pear-dev mailinglist.
I started a new, pretty long project, the realization of the game "Settlers of Catan" as a realtime webapplication. Currently I'm in planning phase and do some UML and stuff to get an overview on the whole thing. I evaluated some kinds of backends for that, mainly IRC, SHM and SRM, which resulted in SRM. Pretty cool thing.
Filemanagers on Linux...
... think about someone who'd like to get an overview on linux available filemanagers (text and GUI based), what would he do? Right! Do a search on freshmeat. Said it, did it. Here are some of the cool results I got (most of the beyonde the first 20 resultes):
Layout updated / Slogan update
I recently updated the color scheme for the website and the blog. Looks much nicer in firebird now. Since I got no Internet Explorer installed (never had the patience to make it running with wine) I could only test it with Firebird and Konqueror. Would be cool, if anyone using other browsers could send me a screenshot to avoid hardcore layout errors. Thx! :)
Extended pattern session with Marco
Marco Kaiser asked me to support me with the pattern session I proposed for the PHP Conference 2004 Spring Edition. I changed the proposal to be a double session and added marko as speaker. We'll give an introduction into the sense of patterns and their practical usage during OO design and implementation of PHP projects.
PHP Conferemce 2004 Spring Edition...
For the PHP Conference 2004 Spring Edition I proposed 3 sessions in cooperation with several other people from the PEAR and PHP community. As there are:
PEPr production delayed...
The official introduction of PEPr for PEAR will be delayed again for some time. I proposed a patch to add a new Karma-Level for PEPr-only-users on pearweb, which now has to be tested. That's just a very small piece of change in the PEAR granting system, so I hope to be enabled to commit them soon.
