Scala live in concert
Yesterday I've been to a concert of Scala (German info) in Cologne. For those of you who do not know Scala, a short abstract about them.
Scala is a chior of about 60 young girls from Belgium who sing well known songs in a very different manor. For example they interpreted songs like "Dream on" (originally by Depeche Mode), "Bittersweet Symphony" (originally by The Verve) and "Schrei nach Liebe" (originally by Die Ärzte, German). Their manor of singing is typically chior-like and on their CDs they are usually accompanied by a piano.
The concert yesterday was really cool. The location was not too huge (the Cologne Live Music Hall) and very familial. The chior was accompanied by a Piano, as usual, but in some cases also by a string quartet and/or a rock band. This was really strange in comparison to their usual atmosphere but it was really cool. They also performed some new songs like "Sweet Dreams" (originally by Eurythmics) and "Kein Zurück" (originally by Wolfsheim, German).
There is another concert by Scala in February in Cologne, so if you're interested, hurry up to get a ticket! :)
