- Eine Mediacenter-Geschichte

  Der Titel klingt im Deutschen schön doof, "a media center story" wäre
  eindeutig besser gewesen, aber das ist schließlich ein deutsches Blog. Na
  ja, aber worum geht's hier? Nach unserem Umzug gen Heimat habe ich mir einen
  lang ersehnten Wunsch erfüllt und das Wohnzimmer ziert jetzt ein chicer
  Mediacenter-PC, im Austausch gegen DVD-Player, CD-Player und Tape-Deck. 
  Nach meiner Begeisterung für das Gerät und das Setup, möchte ich beides
  hier kurz vorstellen.

- Star Trek

  Als Ur-Trekky konnte ich es mir nicht nehmen lassen, den neuen Star
  Trek-Film im Kino anzusehen. Mit gemischten Gefühlen, wie ich zugeben muss:
  Die Original Star Trek-Filme sowie die Serie habe ich im zarten Alter von
  ca. 14 Jahren das erste mal gesehen und verschlungen. Von allen Filmen und
  fast allen Serien der Star Trek war ich begeistert. Immer weiter ging es in
  die Zukunft: Von James T. Kirk über Jean-Luc Picard bis zu Kathryn
  Janeway... Und nun sollte der Neue Star Trek-Film die Geschichte der jungen
  Original-Crew zeigen?

- Movie recommendation: Charlie Wilson's War

  I just watched Charlie Wilson's War in cinema and can only recommend this
  movie to anyone out there. The plot tells the story how a US congress man
  covert dealings in Afghanistan in a very ironic and sarcastic way. While
  having some really good jokes this also gives you a good view behind the
  scene, how the US raised their own nowerdays enemies. I never saw a movie
  before that had this crazy mixture of elements: Highly politically bitchy,
  killingly funny and with a high-grade cast (including Tom Hanks and Julia
  Roberts).

- Fahrenheit 9/11

  I finally managed to watch Fahrenheit 9/11 in cinema. It's been a very
  splitted experience. On the one hand Michael Moore manages to emazingly show
  some backgrounds on the happenings since George W. Bush's "election". On the
  other one it's horrible to see how they brought people the fear, how they
  attacted innocent people and how they convinced thei own folks to join the
  army...

- Absolute Giganten

  Yesterday I watched the movie "Absolute Giganten", which Thies recommended
  to me. He adores this movie and told me pretty cool stuff on it on Linuxtag.
  Also I'm not so crazy about it as he is, I must admit, it's really worth
  watching.
