PDV (phpDocumentor for Vim) ran into the top 10 PHP Vim scripts on vim.org within 2 from it's first publishing... and I did not even vote once... that's a bit scary, isn't it? - PDV example I just realized that I missed to show some examples for my phpDocumentor for Vim plugin. So, here they are: - Comfortable PHP editing with VIM -4- It's nearly 4 month ago now, since I last blogged about my .vimrc (the main Vim config file) and the recent enhancements I added to it. This time, I go a step further as in the last 3 parts: I wrote my first own Vim script. :) Beside that there are as usual some other great enhancements and tips I collected over the past 4 month and I already have an idea of how to proceed and what I need more. But first, I'd like to give a brief changelog between version 1.3 and the last version: - Welcome to pearadise.net I think the time is right to publish the new project I recently worked on. Please welcome pearadise.net - The PEAR channel portal. pearadise.net enables you to register your PEAR 1.4 compliant channel server and have it's data aggregated in a unique web interface. By now the pearadise.net portal provides access to the PEAR channel itself and Greg Beavers test channel (where he also provides the channel server). - So called "News on PHP6" I personallly do not concider it wise to spread out the issues currently discussed on the PHP internal development list to the public as some (mostly not really in PHP's development itself envolved people - as I am one, too) did in the past days. What currently happens is a brainstorming on what eventually could be possible for PHP version (maybe) 6. Sadly some websites have published that information, what partly got taken over by reliable news pages. While I do agree more or less completly with the points raised by Rasmus, I concider it harmful to bring those discussions to the wide public, which might spread FUD to actual PHP users. - t=-6 days: PEAR Online Workshop Take your heels, time is running out to register for the world first PEAR Online Seminar and to learn everything about PEAR in 6 weeks.... - Open Source Spam? Chregu and me recently seemed to have received or first "open source spam" (never knew, such existed...) at Planet-PHP. The following email landed in our mailbox (names obfuscated): - eZ publish Enterprise Components eZ systems recently announced the development of eZ publish Enterprise Components, a high quality framework for development of large scale web applications. The Components will be extracted from eZ publish during migration to the new version 4.0 (which also includes the migration of eZ publish itself to PHP5) and will afterwards be available as an own open source product under the LGPL. The distribution of eZ publish Enterprise Components will be done through a PEAR channel server and therefore utilizing the PEAR Installer. - Getting advertised on google My PEAR workshop recently get's advertised on Google using Google's AdWords: - Learn everything about PEAR in 6 weeks! You're developing large PHP applications every day? Your applications are growing fast? You always have low time and budget for your projects? Your PHP based product needs some new nice feature which would take long to implement? You're often developing PHP applications with "rapid prototyping"?
