schlitt.info - php, photography and private stuff ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ :Author: Tobias Schlitt :Date: Thu, 19 Sep 2013 08:35:38 +0200 :Copyright: CC by-nc-sa === PHP === - Comfortable PHP Editing With VIM -9- After telling you about my completely reworked VIM setup and the awesome VIM plugins I'm using in it, this blog post deals to share with some snippets and settings I'm using to make all that stuff work round. - Comfortable PHP Editing With VIM -8- As promised, I'm explaining my new VIM setup in some more detail, staring with the collection of plugins I use by now to enhance my VIM experience. I already have some in mind which I need to try out, but I would be happy to know which additional plugins you can recommend in relation to PHP programming (and beyond). Please leave a comment! - Comfortable PHP Editing With VIM -7- I finally managed to re-work my VIM setup completely, so it's time for an updated. First the sad news: VIP (VIM Integration for PHP) is dead. To relativate this: I still provide my current VIM setup via Github to deal for you as an inspiration. For more compensation I also have a good news: I rewrote PDV - phpDocumentor for VIM completely and it now nicely integrates with current plugin managers. Its code is now way cleaner and maintainable and it has some fancy new features like templating support through my Vmustache implementation and support for making the generated doc blocks UltiSnippets snippets for even more ease in editing them (waving to Textmate users). - PHP library release survey The Apache Zeta Components project is currently discussing how to adjust the old eZ Components release process to the ASF guidelines. During this discussions, quite some ideas came up on how the process could be optimized. This brought my interest to how users of PHP libraries would actually like to obtain library code for their projects. I will publish the raw results of the survey later, so all of the PHP libraries and frameworks can benefit. So please take some minutes and fill out the form! - FrOSCon 2010 slides online I uploaded my slides about the Apache Zeta Document component to Slideshare. The talk was held yesterday in the PHP room at FrOSCon. - Qafoo - software quality since 1886 Of course not, but still, the building that hosts our office was built at that time. ;) However, this post should simply tell you that Qafoo, the company by Kore, Manuel and me, has started on July 1st officially and that our company website went online just some minutes ago. You can now find all of our services online, nicely presented in a fresh green. And of course, you can send us a message right away, if you desire training, consulting or support anyway related to PHP software quality. - Zeta mailinglists available The new mailinglists for the Zeta components have just been created in the Apache Incubator space. So, it's time to start switching to the new infrastructure. - Twitter avatars in TwIRCd TwIRCd integrates Twitter with your IRC client by implementing an IRC server, mainly developed by Kore until now. During the past weekend, our unofficial PHPUGDO hackathon, I seized the chance to implement support for Twitter avatars for it. Pretty useless, but fun. ;) - We want your talks: PHP@FrOSCon 2010 This years FrOSCon (Free and Open Source Conference) will be the fifth instance of this amazing event. As usual, the PHP Usergroup Dortmund, in cooperation with people from Cologne, organizes a PHP room with talks and hacking. If you've never been to FrOSCon, you should really seize the chance. If you have been to FrOSCon, yet, you know what you would be missing! :)The call for papers for the PHP room is still open until May 23rd, so take your heels and propose some interesting talks for the PHP room. - Qafoo - The PHP quality ninjas As announced earlier in this blog, Manuel, Kore and me are in the process of founding our own company. Now it's time to present the name we have thought out for this operation. We are Qafoo - The PHP quality ninjas. Isn't that cool? :) So, let me try to explain the origin of this name here. Feel invited to comment on our idea and to give us some inspiration.
