I'm just back from the eZ publish conference in Skien, Norway, (see my first roundup here) and will directly start through to the first Free and Open Source Conference in Bonn. As already announced, we (the PHP usergroup Dortmund) organized a professional PHP track tomorrow, in cooperation with the PHP usergroup K?ln/Bonn. On Sunday we will have a PHP hackaton, where every geek is invitsed to join us for hacking/chatting/whatever. - Greetings from Norway! Today was the first day of the eZ publish conference here in Skien, Norway, where the eZ systems headquarter is located. Before today we had 3 days of eZ crew activities, since the complete eZ systems team from over the world is currently in Norway. - PHP at FrOSCon program available! We finally managed to get the program online for the professional PHP track at the Free and Open Source Conference 2006, which takes place on the next weekend (June 24th and 25th) in Bonn, Germany. We will have 6 PHP related talks on Saturday, held by professional PHP developers, and a hackaton event on Sunday. Everyone is invited to join us and have a good time. - FrOSCon PHP room - Last chance for papers As Kore already mentioned, the call for papers for the PHP room at the FrOSCon is running out. So take your heels and propose now! - Successful online session I just finished my online session about our enterprise PHP 5 library eZ components, which was sponsored by dynamic-webpages.de and eZ systems. The talk went really good and more than 20 attendees followed my words around the general design of enterprise eZ components and my source code browsing session through our Gallery example application. I really had the feeling, that everyone was quite impressed and very satisfied with the session, at least I was. - My first interview Fullo made an interview with me, during phpDay in Bari, about Open Source, Web 2.0, PHP and eZ. Also it's on the Italian OSSBlog website, it is written in English. - Way back from Bari Sitting at the Malpensa airport in Milano and waiting for my connection flight to D?sseldorf I seize the chance to work a bit. The conference in Bari was really great. I meat a lot of interesting and especially very nice people. My talk about the our enterprise PHP platform eZ components went quite well and I received a lot of feedback. Since I don't know much italien (as the attendees of my talk will probably have noticed), I skipped the afternoon talks at the phpDay (sorry Zeev ;-P) and used the chance to lay down on the beach for a bit. I even managed to go swimming in the sea. Really great. What I enjoyed most in Bari was actually the food. Italians really know how to make really good dinners. In my whole life I did not have that much anti pasti... ;) - Summer in south italy Yesterday I arrived here in Bari for the phpDay event (I will give an introductional talk about our PHP 5 library eZ components, soon). The trip was quite long, because I had to go to Milano first and then had another flight to Bari, but with about 4 hrs waiting in Milano. Anyway, I'm here now. After a fantastic dinner last night (man, _real_ italian food is soooooo delicious!) we have perfect weather here, today (32C and beautiful blue sky). A real pita that I forgot my digicam at home... But Fullo (one of the organizers of phpDay) is luckily taking photos... So, of to my session now. Greetings to rainy Germany and rainy Norway! ;-P - Free eZ Components online session (german) I'll be giving a free online session about our enterprise PHP library in cooperation with dynamic-webpages.de on May 26th, 15:00-16:30. The session will give an overview about the eZ components architecture, as well as practical usage examples. I would love to meet you online then. :) Thanks to Wolfgang Drews from dynamic-webpages.de for providing this session! - FrOSCon main conference program online The program for the main conference tracks of the FrOSCon (Free and Open Source Conference), which will take place in June 2006 has been published online. Kore Nordmann and me will give some interessting talks about PHP:
