Tobias Schlitt - a passion for php

A bit late to announce but since thursday last week (i've been offline again until today) the slides of my little PEAR introduction are online.

Attention, this post is in German language.

Nach meiner Anreise gestern startete heute Morgen um 9:30 die PHP World, im Rahmen des Internet World Kongress am Rande der Systems. Nach der soeben beendeten Keynote von Zeev Suraski erwarten uns nun weitere interessante Vorträge rund um PHP:

• Suchmaschinenoptimierung trotz/mit PHP
• Web Services und PHP - ein Widerspruch?!
• PHP für High-End-Anwendungen
• (Un)sichere PHP-Seiten
• Datenbank-Abstraktionslayer in PHP

Gehalten werden diese natürlich von bekannten Persönlichkeiten der PHP Community, wie Stephan Schmidt und Lukas Smith. Nicht zu vergessen, mein eigener Vortrag "PEAR von A-Z", welcher der vorletzte an diesem Tag sein wird. In diesem Sinne nur ein kurzer Überblick über den Kongress und die Empfehlung an alle "Nicht-Teilnehmer" in diesem Jahr, dieses Event im nächsten Jahr nicht auszulassen.

As you may have read in my blog a few weeks ago, I will give a talk on PEAR and it's greatnesses at the PHP-World-Kongress (Part of the Internet-World-Kongress). Today they provided a bunch of "promotion tools" (a logo, a banner and some press text) to the speakers and I like the banner (although it is flash).

So, if you don't have tickets for the Internet-World, yet, take your feet and buy some. A full day of PHP talks is waiting, with interessting topics like

• PHP 5 – Empowering the Web (by Zeev)
• PHP für High-End-Anwendungen (by Stephan Schmidt)
• Datenbank-Abstraktionslayer in PHP (by Lukas)

Most of them are (sadly) in german, as the organizers wanted it. Beside the PHP-World, the Internet-World-Kongress consits of the ISP World, which also covers some interessting talks and 3 days of congress and discussions.

Now, since the summer slump is nearly over, there are more technology conferences to come. As there are for me:

• Internet World Kongress (München, Germany), October 19 - 21, 2004
• Linux World Expo (Frankfurt, Germany), October 26 - 28, 2004
• International PHP Conference 2004 (Frankfurt, Germany), November 7 - 10, 2004

I will give a talk on the Internet World Congress about PEAR and it's greatnesses and will have a power workshop on this topic in cooperation with Lukas Smith on the International PHP Conference. On the Linux World Expo PEAR will have an exhibition booth (and as usual on the PHP Conference, too), which has been organized by Stefan Neufeind.

I would be very pleased to meet some of you geeks out there on one of the conferences! Please give me a hint if and when you're there!
